George and Amal Clooney attended an event at Villa Passalacqua in Lake Como after wildfires forced the family to leave their home in southern France in July.
George Clooney and Amal Clooney attended an event at Villa Passalacqua in Lake Como earlier in August, continuing the couple’s customary summer visits to Italy. The 65-year-old actor and the 48-year-old human-rights lawyer arrived in coordinated ivory clothing.
The appearance followed a July evacuation from the family’s home in Brignoles in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region as wildfires spread across southern Europe. The couple live there with their nine-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander.
In a letter to Brignoles mayor Didier Brémond, George Clooney said the family did not know whether its home would survive but remained committed to helping the town recover. Brignoles has a population of just under 18,000.
The couple also marked Clooney’s 65th birthday in St Tropez in May. Amal Clooney organised a celebration in which several of his friends appeared disguised as waiters.
